Hydrology is the study of the
occurrance, distribution, movement
and quality of water on and
beneath the Earth's surface and its
interaction with the overall
hydrologic cycle and water
resources. Hydrology typically
focuses upon impacts with human
and aquatic life. A practitioner of
hydrology is a hydrologist, often
working within the fields of earth
science, the biological sciences,
physical geography, or civil and
environmental engineering.
Water is the essence of life -
greater understanding of and
respect towards this irreplaceable
resource is imperative.
Water is the most critical resource
issue of our lifetime and our
children's lifetime. The health of
our waters is the principal
measure of how we live on the
land.
